A conference titled “Our Prophet and Youth – A Pioneering Generation in the Footsteps of the Prophet” was organized in cooperation with the Zonguldak Provincial Mufti’s Office, BEUN Faculty of Theology, and the Geçerken Student Community. The event took place at the BEUN Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara, faculty members, students, and guests.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Ahmet Can Keskin, a student of our Faculty. In his opening speech, Dean Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara emphasized that young people should take the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as an example and strive to become a pioneering generation both spiritually and scientifically.
The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ağırman from Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, spoke about the value the Prophet Muhammad placed on youth and the important role of young companions in the spread of Islam. He noted that the Prophet turned mosques into centers of education and solidarity, emphasizing that young people should become individuals equipped with knowledge, faith, and justice.
At the end of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Ağırman and stated that the Prophet’s morality, justice, and compassion should serve as a guiding example for young people. He also expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Mufti’s Office, the Faculty administration, and the student community for their contributions.
