Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara, and Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Ortakcı, attended the award ceremony of the painting, poetry, and essay competition organized by the Zonguldak Branch of the İlim Yayma Society on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports Conference Hall.

In his speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara stated that knowledge cannot truly benefit society unless it is grounded in moral values. He noted that an education system focused solely on examinations and achievement represents an incomplete approach and emphasized the need for an educational understanding that places the human being at its center.

Drawing attention to the serious problems that may arise in professional life when individuals are raised without strong values, Prof. Dr. Kara emphasized that neglect in social and technical fields can lead to significant societal consequences. Addressing the youth at the conclusion of his speech, he stated that the future of the country will be built by individuals who are both successful and committed to their values, and that Türkiye needs morally grounded artists and intellectuals more than ever.

At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara presented awards to the students who placed in the competition.
