On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, the Faculty of Theology hosted a conference titled “Religious Services and Career Planning” at the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Arslan Conference Hall. The speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih KURT, Advisor to the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı).
The conference was attended by Zonguldak Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, our faculty members, and a large number of students.
At the opening of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kurt presented the historical development of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and its institutional mission in Turkey’s religious services. He then provided detailed information on the organizational structure of the Diyanet, its service areas, and personnel training policies.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kurt emphasized that religious services are not limited to worship alone but reach all segments of society through education, social guidance, spiritual support, overseas services, and digital platforms. He also highlighted the importance of career planning, proper guidance, and personal awareness, advising students aspiring to work in the Diyanet to systematically plan their professional development.
At the end of the program, our Dean, Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara, presented a certificate of appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kurt.
Following the conference, Dean Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Kara, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kurt and Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, visited students attending the memorization (Hafiz) class, conducted as part of the collaboration between our Faculty and the Zonguldak Provincial Mufti’s Office. During the visit, the students engaged in a friendly discussion about the importance of integrating Hafiz training with theological formation.
